|Additional Information||This sword has many characteristics of Yamashiro style. Probably begin 1400 -1450.
Given the sword characteristics and the length of the sword, I believe in finding what Kunitsugu among so many could have made this sword with that name, the literature on the SUDO Kunitsugu in the Kii province should be consulted.
The signature in the Eisho period (1504-1521) was actively being blacksmith is characterized by a character KUNI with two diagonals. However, the inscription on the sword is entirely different.

|History||KUNITSUGU (国次), 1st gen., Bunmei (文明, 1469-1487), Mino – “Kunitsugu” (国次), Yamada-Seki-group (山田関), he signed the inner part of the character for “Kuni” like the character “min” (民) and is therefore referred to as “Min-Kunitsugu,” he made mostly short, about 66.6 cm measuring katate-uchi, itame mixed with mokume which shows also a tendency to masame, some blades have a blackish steel, suguha, notare or gunome-midare with mixed-in nioi-ashi or tobiyaki, ryō-wazamono, chūjō-saku.|
