歴史 History

後藤光美は後藤宗家十五代目にあたり、十四代光守の嫡男で、享保4年に

父光守が亡くなったのを機に四郎兵衛と名を変え家督を継ぎ、

後藤宗家十五代目として活躍した。　

四郎兵衛の他に眞乗、源之丞などとも名乗った。

彼は1780年に生まれ、1843年に亡くなりました。

Gotō Mitsuaki (後 藤光 晃) is a 16th generation master craftsman of the Gotō Soke family (後藤宗家), 16th Gotō generation Hōjō (方乗).

Mitsuaki (光晃) was born in 1816 as the 3rd son of Mitsuyoshi (光美), the 15th generation of the Gotō Soke family (後藤宗家), he called his youngster by the name Mitsunen (光年). Due to the retirement of his predecessor, he inherited the family at the age of 19 in 1835 and changed his name to Mitsuaki (光晃) and was called Shirobei (白兵衛). During the Tenpō era (天保 1830-1843) he also made oval coins on behalf of the Shogunate (幕府), he died in 1856. During his life Mitsuaki (光晃) was responsible for many tasks including repairing and controlling the work of his ancestors.
