The judgment on the authentic as expressed in the description above was confirmed by “Nippon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kyokai” (NBTHK) issuing a Fuchi-Gashira 特別保存刀装具鑑定書 Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu Kanteisho” certificate number: 2005179.

Provided on 平成三十年十一月十六日.  Heisei san jû nen gatsu jû rokû hi.  November 16, 2018 (16-11-2018).

Fuchi & Gashira is suitable Wakizashi and Katana.

歴史 History

This fuchi-Gashira 縁頭 was made by Hideshige 英秀, his name can also be read as Teruhide. He was born in the year Kyōhō ju go nen 享保十五年生, 1730 and died in the year Kansei ju nen, 寛政十年没,1798.

The family name is Omori 大森, and his personal name is Kisōji 喜宗次. As aartist he used the name Ittōsai 一濤斎 and Ryūusai 龍雨斎.

Teruhide 英秀, 2nd gen. was the nephew and adopted son of Terumasa 輝政.

He succeeds his adoptive father as head of the Omori family 大森家族 and as such is the nidai 二代. He worked in Edo, Musashi kuni 江⼾, 武蔵国.
